At this very moment I am in a state of pure bliss and relief. After biting my nails and being in a constant state of fear that the game was doomed to fade into bullshit. A industry full of clowns and bull gum rappers, rapping about dancing and blowing kisses using your simple abc 123 rhyming style. I can finally say I am no longer worried about this. I guess while I was in fear that the industry that I have grown to love and cherish was soon to meet its demise real MCs were planning. Planning their takeover…planning to take back the game and restore it to its natural state, where real vocabularies and not only street smarts but book smarts are needed; Planning on setting the standards of good music so high that only the chosen ones could deliver.

Being a real MC is not a common thing, regardless how some may see it. Sure anybody can rap but being a REAL MC is something that chooses you not you choose it. A real MC knows when they have the gift of rap inside them, and they work and study to improve their craft. They listens to others studies music not just hip hop but all types, read and inform themselves on the world and what is going on in it. They don’t care if the people are bounce to their song but they care if their music has a meaning, if it stands for something, or speaking on something. They’re not making songs just for the hell of it but they’re making songs to get it off their chest, to speak of what they see and experience.

I feel like real MCs have powers. Nothing magical but none the less they are powers. They have the power to control your emotions. They know how to make you shut up, listen, and think. They have the power to make you feel their feelings, even when you can’t personally relate. The way they word what they say, the passion you hear in their voices and the overall story they’re telling takes over and consumes you.  Real MCs also know how to take their personal experiences and help you relate.

 It’s kind of comforting, knowing that you’re not alone in this journey to know that somebody who you thought had it all also has real problems. Also to know that grinding it out really works. I’m sure it’s so many people out there on their grinds that’s wondering will it pay off and when they hear these MCs rap about their grind and how they came up, can be real aspiring. 

I honestly don’t know why I’m writing this but I’m kind of glad I did. I guess listening to this J.Cole Friday Night Lights mixtape has inspired this. I mean dude has straight classics! The mere thought of Kanye, J.Cole, Wale, Kid Cudi, and a lot others just brings a smile to my face. I used to be jealous that the people in the 80’s and 90’s had rappers like Run DMC, A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, and other like them to listen to and I had Soulja Boy -__- (Throws up) But thanks to the before named artist I can once again enjoy music and be excited to wake up in the morning knowing that one of these talented people will drop a song, mixtape, or album.

Its a Thin Line between Groupie and Fan

In a society where real fans are rare and groupies are running rampant, how can you tell the difference between a fan and a groupie? Some can and have easily mistaken a fan as a groupie, but I highly doubt a groupie has been mistaken for a fan. My definition of a fan is a person who love the art being produced. They like the artist but they live for the craft. A fan is a person who will support an artist's work despite what controversy or "bad press" is surrounding that person. They know how to draw a line between the artist and his work. They know how to see the work and greatness not the person from which it comes. They still believe and support the person who is creating the work but if the person is showing bad moral judgment that fan will still support the artist's projects. Not because they don't care about what the artist has done or feel like they are above ridicule but because they cannot deny the greatness and quality of what is being produced. Example: Kanye West and the Taylor Swift incident. When Kanye did this I was very disappointed in him but if he was to had dropped My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy the next day I would have still bought two copies of it. Not because I am just o so in love with Kanye West (which I am, well his mind but whatever off subject) but because I know that the music on that album would have been pure genius, and which it was. I would have still been disappointed in him and his bad decision but my views of him as an artist wouldn't have changed. To me that is what a fan is. While a groupie on the other hand...SMH could careless about the craft. All she does is looks at the artist and see money signs and begins to scheme on how she can get him so she can get what he has. She'll hang around wherever he is, try and sneak into his hotel room, whatever! They will do whatever they have to do in order to get what they want. Its really sad quite honestly, but hey it is what it is I guess...Anyhow but artist I know it can be hard but try not to mistake a groupie for a fan because you can eff around and lose a true fan. Just because they might @ you on twitter alot or show up at places they know you will be, doesn't mean that they're groupies, It might just mean that they are fans who wants to meet the person behind the brilliant work. Writing this article is making me want to watch my favorite movie Almost Famous! If you haven't seen it you should check it out, it actually discusses this "issue" in the movie!

The Perfect Moment

Ugh! I swear all we do is fight! I look down at my phone and text my bestfriend to tell her about this stupid argument that we just had. Man I swear sometimes I wonder why do I even put up with his bs and waste my time?! I mean it seems like hes never going to make this official so whatever! I roll down my window even though its raining hard as hell outside. I just need the fresh air wet or not. I like the way the damp air that escapes into the car onto my arm feels. It reminds me of a happier time. A time when we were happy and it looked like things were going places. It reminded me of our secret getaway to Florida. One weekend we were both home bored with nothing to do so he calls me and tells me to pack! Pack! For what?! He wouldnt tell me where we were going he just told me to pack! Liking the spontaneity, I did as I was told. I packed and within an hour he was outside to pick me up. As I got in the car I started to bumbard him with questions about our final destination. All he did was laugh and turned the music up on me. Ugh he can be such an ass hole at times but so can I so we work. Next thing I know were at the airport. So now Im kind of excited and annoyed cause I didnt bring enough clothes to leave the state. I just thought I would be spending the night at his house or at some nice hotel and well just enjoy the town, but instead were about to board a plane. Finally I was told where I was beeing wisked away to. Apparently he had enough frequent flyer miles for two tickets and he was taking me to the Keys for the weekend. We had so much fun that weekend, it had to e one of the best weekends of my life. *sigh* I miss those times...Now here we are driving down 16 on our way back to school from a shopping trip in Savannah that went totally south. After a while I rolled my window back up and just stared blankly out of it ass the rain feel. I wondered if I continued to look out the window while it rained that if I cried people looking from the outside in would just think my tears were raindrops. Ugh why are these commercials still on?! I really wish they would just play a song already! Seesh I need something to take my mind off the fact I am being totally ignored!...As if he could read my mind, he spoke and what he said made me think I didnt hear him correctly. This whole time I thought he was ignoring me because he was mad but apparently he was deep in thought. He said "I know we argue alot and I tend to be an ass hole but I was thinking I dont want to argue with anybody but you. I know its taken me forever to say this but I want us to be official. I want you to be mines and I yours...I really care about and like you alot and this would make me very happy." All I could do is smile and nod. I mean I couldn't even tell him yes I was so darn speachless! And at that moment the commercials went off and Rick Ross ft. Chrisette Michele and Drake Aston Martin Music came on! Talk about a perfect moment!

I was almost in tears when I saw this movie, O how I wish my brain and crreativity level was on his, no worries cause it will one day I just have to work 20 times harder than the 10 times harder Im working now! This is like the most beautiful thing Ive seen in a long time. His passion, creativity, and love of art are apparent in this video. When I first saw this movie I was so excited! Man these past two weeks have been stupid crazy! Ugh like seriously school has been taking up more of my time than I want it to! I hate when I have to put things that Im doing on hold for a damn geology class or some random crap like that! Ugh but I guess some things have to be done...#Nandashrug, But seriously though I missed you guys!!! I haven't blogged in too long and I don't like the fact that I haven't the music industry has been making mad moves and I haven't been around to report them due to a Geology class. :-x Man I have been listening to Kanye West The College Dropout and been thinking, why am I in school?! Like seriously, its slick a waste of time. I mean Im not trying to be a doctor lawyer or anything like that! First off I have my own company already and secondly I want to be a freaking stylist, blogger, and public relations specialist and Im basically all of that stuff all ready so WHY THE FREAK am I wasting my time and money in school?! Hmmm. I could be making way more money than I am now. I mean seriously I do maybe 2 photo shoots a month and I make around $500, so what if I wasn't in school and had time to do more photo shoot...Plus start throwing my events and what not Id really be on point then...UGH! Sooo frustrating but anyways since I haven't been on my ish Im about to go ham posting songs and videos and IDC if they're late! Lol anyways sorry loves but Im back now! XOXO Bang Bang!

Demeaning or Just Guilty....

So today I was talking to one of my friends and we got into the age old argument of how some club songs are so demeaning to women and blah blah blah. I mean me personally I do not find these songs demeaning because I know that they are not talking about me and that I cannot relate to them on a personal level. There are plenty of songs that you can find me bouncing to in the club that are rude and CAN be offensive to some women but like I said not to me because I know who and what I am and none of those songs describe me. Also I tend to believe that all artist write from personal experience no matter how crappy the song is. So if a dude is writing a song about how he "fucked this hoe" and how this "bitch sucked him up" then hey thats what happened. It wasn't me and I have never been in a situation where I engaged in any form of sexual intercourse where I would be considered to have shown "hoe" behavior so if the song has a nice beat and a snappy chorus, when it comes on in the club Im down to move to the beat. I don't get mad and say how dare he calls that girl a "bitch" or tell about their sexual encounters! Hey I look at as freedom of speech and dude just expressing the way he felt or relaying the story of what happened. Example one of my favorite songs in the club is Travis Porter Make It Rain. I do not find that song the least bit offensive. I am not a stripper, I don't shake my behind for cash nor show it for currency lol so why would I get all bent out of shape about the songs lyrical content? I have a theory and this is a theory not a proven fact so no need to get bent out of shape about it unless deep down inside you know its true. But my theory is females who find songs to be offensive and demeaning are either one of two things. One a feminist or two guilty! I say guilty because when I was younger I used to always here this saying "a hit dog will holler" meaning that in order for you to find this song demeaning or disrespectful you would have to relate or deep down inside you know that you can fall under the category of the person that the song is talking about so you sympathize with her ("hoes stick together").  I don't know maybe my take on the situation may be wrong or foolish but hey its my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own...Right!

G.O.O.D WEDNESDAY?! Cool with ME!

So as we all know this morning a song off of Kanye's most anticipated up and coming album was leaked! The song is called Lost in the World!OMG what can I say this track is dope! The only thing that I really didnt like about it was how in the begging it came in with Kanye on the auto-tune!  Quite frankly Im tired of ALL artist using autotune and even though I normally show Kanye favoritism Im tired of him using it too! 808's and Heartbreaks was hot but after that he should've just hung up his auto tune mic cause it quite annoying now! But other than that the song is hot! the beat gose off! I believe he sampled a song by Bon Ivers' called Lost in the Woods. With that he added what I would call a house party mix beat, with drums, and wails! I think it has the feel of the tribal beat Kanye used for the Love Lock Down beat. I effing love it! Of course the lyrics are amazing and at the end the dialog is deep and meaningful! Who will survive in America?! Listen and Download NOW!

So as most people know like 2 weeks ago Fabolous and Soulja Boy got into a twitter war because Soulja Boy got mad because of a line Fab dropped in one of his song... making reference to Soljua's coke habit (LMAO). Because Soulja Boy is mad young and lame af he decided to talk ish on twitter! LMAO dude seriously how old are we?! I remember my last internet beef. It was in 10th grade with some scary little girl that got mad because what I said about her was true. So she tried to slander my name on FB or was it Mysapce hmmmm, Idk but anyways I argued back with her for a min but after a while it got pointless and I realized she wasn't worth any of my time. But just when I decided to drop the "beef" and move on with my life one of her friends decides to jump in and make it known that she had her friends back...hmmm I guess! And I guess thats what 50 Cent lame butt decided he had to do for Soulja Boy. Like dude seriously? Its bad enough that you can't even walk in the streets on NY without a bulletproof vest or car but you want to take some coked up kids side against FAB making your chances of ever seeing the streets of NY minimal. Like dude you know who Fab is, like what would posses you to do such a thing? But what makes the whole situation worse is when Soulja Boy said that Fab was whack and that he has better than him! WHOA!!! SOULJA PLEASE STOP PLAYING YOURSELF! YOU KNOW GOOD A DAMN WELL THAT SHIT IS NOT TRUE! YOUR FIRST SONG WAS ABOUT CRANKING SOME WHACK AS DANCE LIKE WTF DUDE?! WHEN EVERYONE WAS SAYING HIP HOP WAS DEAD THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT YOU AND EVERY ARTIST YOU EVER SIGNED TO YOUR WHACK AS LABEL! (sorry bout that but I really can't stand Soulja Boy's whack ass) Then to top it off him and 50 decided to come out what to me sounds like a dis song called Mean Mug!...Ok so I attempted to listen to the song but the lyrics and everything was straight bull shit! The beat was ok but other than that that song was a #fail. If I was Fab I wouldn't even respond but then I would love to hear Fab's response cause I know it would be some Ill ish! Either way Im kinda happy Soulja Boy did this cause then hopefully Fab will end his career and last time I checked 50 shouldn't even be making songs anymore! I bought 5 of Kanye's albums to make sure of that (No lie!) Ugh what are we going to do about these rejects? Great idea ignore them! Anywho I can't wait for Fab to drop another mixtape or album cause I stay bumping that The Funeral Service and Im ready for more!
